The Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club in Dubai, hosted the semifinals of the EMAAR Cup, on Friday February 21. Noon, Bin Drai, Lamar and AM Polo were the four teams who clashed for a spot in the decisive game. The tournament saw seven teams up to 12 goals, partake.
Noon (2-1) and AM Polo (2-0) opened fire, with the latter receiving one goal on handicap. In a fast paced contest, both lineups played a hard fought game and the gap was widened in the last chukka, when Teo Lacau managed to earn an advantage of a goal and a half, which was crucial for the 6-4.5 to claim the win and the first ticket to the final.
Up next, Bin Drai (1-1) and Lamar (2-1) played the second semifinal, which has a tough start; halfway the first chukka, Mohammed Bin Drai and Santos Iriarte collided and the former had to be assisted by an ambulance, and then for the doctors of the Bin Drai organisation. However, it was indeed a rough contest, that saw no less than 23 gouls thoroghout the four chukkas of play. At the end of the day, Bin Drai were victorious 9.5-8 and will face Noon in the championship game.
Noon and Bin Drai will play the final of the EMAAR Cup on Sunday February 23. Meanwhile, Equity and Abu Dhabi will clash for the Subsidiary Trophy
