McLaren Cup Finalists decided

Ghantoot and Desert Palm 2 make it to the final stage Having won their Semi Finals earlier today, Tariq Albwardy’s Desert Palm 2 and HH Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s Ghantoot teams will now face one another in the Final of The McLaren Cup.

Three teams unbeaten so far

Since 23rd January 2015, ten teams with handicaps of up to 18 goals fight for the McLaren Cup at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club. Until now, all teams have played two-out-of-three preliminary matches. Only three teams – Zedan Polo, Bin Drai Polo and Desert Palm 2 – remain unbeaten so far. UAE, Desert Palm 1 and Edress were defeated in all their matches. The other teams each won once.

Snow Polo World Cup 2015, St Moritz: Team Cartier storm to hat-trick success

With a sensational 10-2.5 win over Team BMW, Team Cartier won the 31st Snow Polo World Cup 2015 in St. Moritz. Winning the tournament for the third time in a row, Team Cartier completed the hat trick. The 6-goaler Chris Hyde from England scored his team to victory; there was no way past him today. Hyde plays with a 9-goal arena handicap in England, making him one of the world’s best arena players. Chris Hyde, paired with a superb horse and displaying superior tactical skill, his Australian team captain Jonathan Munro Ford and the two English team mates Max Charlton and Jamie Morrison had but one aim—winning.

Slow start sinks USA in China’s Snow Polo World Cup opener

It wasn’t exactly what the US team (Del Walton, Mike Azzaro and Tommy Biddle) had anticipated in the opening round of the 2015 Fortune Heights Snow Polo World Cup as they watched Chile (Martin Zegers, Tano Vial and Ignacio Vial Mazieres) jump out to an early 2-0 lead on first chukker goals from Ignacio Vial Mazieres.

The 6th Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series (Dubai Open) – 18 goal begins

Currently being played at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club from the 23rd January – 6th February 2015 is the McLaren Cup - the first tournament in the Gold Cup Series. Now in its sixth year, the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series 2015 (Dubai Open) is held under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. Played as two tournaments, the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series features the McLaren Cup: 23rd Jan – 06th Feb, 2015 and the Julius Baer Gold Cup: 23rd Feb – 13th March, 2015.

Alumni fund new polo arena

The intercollegiate teams of the Yale Polo Club started off 2015 with mixed results this past weekend, as the men’s squad rode to an easy victory over Brown, but the women’s team faltered on its home arena against Skidmore. For members of the Yale teams, though, the opening games were not nearly as important as the venue the matches were played in.
