On Saturday, 13 February, Windsor co-founder Hilary Weston and Salvatore Ferragamo co-hosted the 2016 Windsor Charity Polo Cup, which took place at Windsor in Vero Beach, Florida. Windsor founders Hilary and Galen Weston, Salvatore Ferragamo (who played in the match), Dr. Mehmet and Lisa Oz, Thom Filicia, Jay McLaughlin, Nadja Swarovski,India Hicks, Wilbur and Hilary Ross and famed illustrator Bil Donovan were among the many guests for the day.
Coca-Cola (Gillian Johnston, Sugar Erskine, Julio Arellano and Steve Krueger) struggled with a talented White Birch lineup (Tomas Alberdi, Ezequiel Ferrario, Mariano Aguerre and Peter Brant) Sunday afternoon in Ylvisaker Cup play at the International Polo Club, hanging on to a 6-5 halftime lead before a strong finish gave carried them to a 12-8 victory.
In triple-header action Friday, Tonkawa took a commanding 17-11 victory over Horseware/5 Star Builders/Tackeria; Dubai slid by La Indiana 11-9, and Orchard Hill defeated Palm Beach Illustrated/Technogym 9-5 as the 20-goal Ylvisaker Cup continued at the International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPC).
A combined eight goals from Ezequiel Zubiaurre and Gringo Colombres lifted Palm Beach Equine (Agustin Arellano, Ezequiel Zubiaurre, Gringo Colombres and Scott Swerdlin) to an 8-7 win over defending champion Goose Creek (Maureen Brennan, Marc Ganzi, Juan Bollini Jr. and Mariano Gonzalez) in the final of the 2016 Limited Edition12-goal Series at the Grand Champions Polo Club Saturday afternoon.
