Researchers know that gastric ulcers are common in horses competing in a variety of disciplines, such as endurance, racing, and show jumping. And recently, a Canadian research team added another discipline to that list: polo.
From starting and stopping to turning and galloping, the repetitive movements of polo ponies place demands on their muscoluskeletal system that could predispose them to injury and lameness.
Safety Harbor Kids threw their 8th Annual Polo Fundraiser on the polo grounds at Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades, California. The charity event partnering with Tesla Motors, Sun Fire Defense and Engel Völkers was held to raise funds for orphans, foster and homeless children
Public matches will be held Friday, September 25th at 5pm & 7pm and Saturday, September 26th at 3pm, 5pm and the finals of the National Sherman Memorial at 7pm.

When the USPA announced the polo handicap changes, including the most exciting one being Pablo Pieres Jr. “Polito” going up to 10 goals in outdoor polo. Polito was born in Connecticut and is therefore the first American player to receive a 10-goal handicap since Adam Snow in 2003 and is currently the only American 10-goaler.
A bright tablecloth, spread out on a car's hood, displays a colorful array of tempting foods, and hungry guests drift back and forth for another nibble. Just a few yards away, eight horses are galloping madly down the polo field's sideline, their riders' mallets boldly slashing through the air in pursuit of the round white ball.
The San Diego Polo Club (SDPC) celebrates the end of their 29th season in Rancho Santa Fe with the United States Polo Association (USPA) Spreckels Cup & Closing Day presented by Woodford Reserve. SDPC is proud to partner with La Jolla Polo Team to support World Wildlife Fund (WWF) with specific ticket and auction proceeds benefitting the organization.
The weather was as perfect as a polo day could be. The old boys fired a lot at goal and the tyros began to shine. At eleven o'clock sharp ( even Long Legs Kiyonaga was on time) the Red and Gold squads lined up on the ground.
