The road to a new fire station will take volunteers from Salem Volunteer Fire Department down Route 29 for an unusual combination fundraiser Saturday at the Surya Polo Club.
“Classic Car Day” was the theme at the Oak Brook polo grounds this last Sunday 19th July, 2015. The 1:00pm first match was led by an impressive 17 classic car parade. The Oak Brook Polo Club team was captained by Jim Drury playing at back, and John Greene playing in the number 1 scoring position.
In an emotionally-charged tournament, Travieso won its Aspen Valley Polo Club debut.
Travieso (Teo Calle, Marc Ganzi, Nic Roldan, Stewart Armstrong) came from behind to win the second annual Craig Sakin Memorial Cup Sunday in front of a good local crowd and worldwide ChukkerTV audience.
Airstream and K.I.G. played an intense match for the Butler Handicap that went into overtime and gave win to Airstream 8-7 after a penalti shot by Michel Dorignac. Greenwich Polo Club added this public match to the schedule and fans showed up to watch the action.
