East Coast Open sees White Birch continue winning streak. The weekend brought exciting play from the States, as Santa Barbara Polo Club saw the Final of The Gulfstream Pacific Coast Open, and Greenwich Polo Club hosted penultimate rounds of The East Coast Open.
It's been a while since I've witnessed the "sport of kings" on the grassy Andrews Road field in Skaneateles. It's heartening to see that Marty Craig is preserving the long lineage of polo that goes back to the first local player, Alexander Sinclair Reynolds, born in Skaneateles in 1896.
Polo is an amazing sport with outstanding human and equine athletes, and the spotlight goes on those players at every match, but a big part of the celebration is about the fans at Saratoga Polo Association, and with the final weekend being a celebration of the 117th birthday of Saratoga Polo, fans will party with the SPA Anniversary Cup.

It’s been an exciting couple of days at Santa Maria Polo Club as all three levels of the 44th Land Rover International Polo Tournament Gold Cups culminated in exciting Finals this Friday 28 August and Saturday 29 August.
Facundo Obregon scored seven goals including three in the final chukker to carry Lucchese (John Muse, Tete Grahn, Facundo Obregon and Jeff Hall) to a 13-10 win over Alegria/Valiente (Julian Mannix, Robert Jornayvaz, Santiago Torres and Sterling Giannico) Sunday afternoon in the final of the Gulfstream Pacific Coast Open at the Santa Barbara Polo Club.
From 12th – 30th August, 16 goal Gold Cup matches have been played out on the pitches of Deauville Polo Cup between four teams, all of whom had their sights firmly set on lifting the cup skywards post Sunday’s final
It’s all been going on polo-wise in Europe over the last few weeks, with many players and spectators enjoying both the Spanish and French sun. At St Tropez Polo Club there was a win for Jonathan Rothermere’s Ferne Park (Jonathan Rothermere (0) Joaquin Pittaluga (7) Rodrigo Rueda Jr (6) and Dirk Gould (5) in the first Richard Mille Cote d'Azur Polo Cup, 18 goal.
