Yesterday marked the running of the Preakness Stakes, the second leg of the Triple Crown. While all eyes in the horse racing world will now shift to the Belmont Stakes and undoubtedly focus on American Pharoah as the horse attempts to win the final leg of horse racing’s biggest prize, a less heralded series of horse-related events recently wrapped up its early 2015 schedule.
Team Escue from Florida narrowly beat Team Zambia in a 3-day tournament at Liulayi Polo Club, located 10km from Lusaka, Zambia's capital. Fine weather and good crowds welcomed our visitors from the USA, who also managed a few days on safari in our magical bush. Please come again!
Zambia.....a country in Africa where the people seem so content and happy. Team Escue was invited by Lilaye Polo Club for the Annette Miller Memorial Cup to play against the local Zambian team in an eight goal tournament that lasted for three days.
Tempest win the Valerie Halford Memorial Trophy
Gustav Rausing’s Tempest won the Final of the Valerie Halford Memorial Trophy 12 goal on Saturday 9 May against BHC Polo with a final score of 9-7. Six goaler, Hissam Ali Hyder was awarded The Polo Magazine Most Valuable Player Award for his contribution to Tempest’s win.

WORLD class polo players and VIPs gathered at the Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park for the live draw of Chestertons Polo in the Park where city teams from around the globe will battle it out at the tournament from 5-7 June at Hurlingham Park. Guests were treated to a Champagne Lanson Rose Label reception and Fentimans Cocktails throughout the evening.
