Four teams to feature in this year’s edition
Players and ponies are ready to take part in the final polo event of the Dubai season. Taking place at SkyDive Dubai, four teams are set to battle it out for this year’s title. Defending champions Team Vista Jet Bombadier return to the event under the captaincy of Rashid Albwardy, while his brother Tariq heads Team Cadillac (Middle East).
“We had our chance,” Felipe Viana, who played on the team representing the United States at the FIP World Polo Championship in Chile told Fox News Latino about the championship match.
An action-packed weekend at IPC, Wellington
Over the weekend, there was more than Palm Beach’s fair share of polo action taking place at International Polo Club. With the US Open now well underway, all eight teams took to the fields on either Saturday or Sunday, where they took on their fellow 26 goal competition.

The tournament will see five teams go head to head for the right to be crowned maiden winners of an event dreamed up by Mohammed Al Habtoor, founder of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series.
Orchard Hill (Steve Van Andel, Gallego Ferrario, Polito Pieres and Facundo Pieres) led the game for the first five and one-half chukkers but a sixth chukker rally by Las Monjitas (Camilo Bautista, Facundo Sola, Sebastian Merlos and Eduardo Novillo Astrada) carried them to a 14-13 win in US Open play Sunday morning at the International Polo Club..
The polo world lost one of its most dedicated and esteemed members on the afternoon of April 3. Alan Corey III, 73, has been a part of Aiken Polo Club for decades. He was playing the first practice of the year in Aiken, where he collapsed after the fourth chukker of apparent heart failure.
