ICBL Barbados completed a clean sweep of their UNNA/ICBL Cheshire tour series when they defeated the visiting Cheshire team 4.5 to 2 in the finals at Holder’s Hill yesterday afternoon.
Jaime Dickson was the hometown hero, scoring two goals to ensure Barbados remained unbeaten in the three match series.

From 3rd to 8th March the Diplomats’ Cup was held at the Singapore Polo Club for the third time. Five teams attended the tournament, representing the regions of the world: Africa, Asia, Europe, America and Oceania. In the final the teams Asia and Africa met. Sattar Khan (+4), Satinder Garcha (+2), Creighton Yeo (-2) as well as Lawrence Khong and Keith Yeo (0), sharing one position, won against team Africa by 13-6,5. Goal scorer of the match was Satinder Garcha, scoring eight out of 13 goals for his team.
Engel & Völkers leapt into action right from the start and Kris Kampsen scored first goal of the game with lightening accuracy. Fred Mannix quickly responded by running in a goal for Audi, setting the tone early for Audi’s fast-paced play. Both teams were evenly matched, riding hard and showcasing the speed and athleticism of their mounts.
Alegria overcame a midgame lapse in concentration to outscore Las Monjitas three goals to one in the sixth chukker for the win 9-8 in the second round of the USPA Piaget Gold Cup at International Polo Club. The win for Alegria equalized their record at 1-1 for the tournament.
Coca-Cola scored right away, with a conversion by Julio Arellano. With lightning speed and accuracy, Gillian Johnston accelerated into a breakaway and shot a pass to Pelon Sterling, who sent it to Sugar Erskine. Erskine drove it in to pull Coca-Cola ahead of Lechuza Caracas 2-0. A penalty conversion by Juan Martin Nero put Lechuza Caracas into contender status. Arellano took charge and scored his second goal of the match, making the score 3-1 at the end of the first chukker.

At one point, the match was actually very closely contested, with Howard Taylor’s spectacular backhand shot from an acute angle bringing Cheshire within one goal at 4-3, at the beginning of the third chukka.
But it was all one-way traffic from there as Crispin, who was having a fantastic match up to that point, turned
up the pressure.
After picking up the ball on the right side of the field, he coolly slotted the ball between the goalpost to
make it 5-3.
Seconds later, he stole the ball from Taylor, and galloped down the field before guiding the ball into the goal.
He then put the match out of Cheshire’s reach, when he tapped in from close range after receiving a pinpoint pass from teammate Stuart Gill to make it 7-3.
Marc Atwell got into the act in the final chukka with two late strikes, the first of which was beautifully set up by a pass from Crispin.
Earlier, Crispin left mouths wide open after opening the scoring with an unbelievable shot.
